In today’s episode, I had a conversation with Jelani Simpson who is involved in the Albemarle Mustang Elite basketball team. This is a group of young players from Monticello High School and they need to raise funds for their team to travel to tournaments held throughout Virginia. They decided to hold a basketball clinic to not only reach their financial goals, but to also give back to the community.
The clinic is this Saturday, April 15, from 10:00 to 1:00 at the Scottsville Community Center. The fee is $10.00. Registration is not necessary. This is a skill building session for boys and girls ages six to thirteen.
Jelani spent time with me discussing his love of basketball and the Mustang Elite players dedicated to the game.
