Change is upon Scottsville. At tomorrow night’s Town Council work session, Planning Commission Chair, Lisa Caltabiano will give a presentation land-use which is a major segment in the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. There isn’t any detail on what Lisa will report on. However, the Commission is in the beginning stages of updating the Town’s comprehensive plan. The Planning Commission works on the comprehensive plan and makes recommendations to Council. Also, Southern Development has submitted 42 unit by-right subdivision which borders Blenheim and Albevanna Springs Roads. They also have oversight on all subdivision applications. Town Council does not review subdivisions.
Another change will be in the office. Administrator Matt Lawless has submitted a 90-day notice to Town Council. He has told Council he will stay on to assist with the transition. The job description has been posted, and according to Mayor Ron Smith, the Town is now receiving applications.
And yet another change comes with the appointment of Aileen Morse to fill the seat Zach Bullock vacated in January. Aileen has served on the Government Services Committee.
