What Has Lincoln Lewis Been Doing in Scottsville?

Listen in to find out!

Greetings All!

First I thank each of you who have subscribed to my podcast. Over the past year, I have utilized two methods of getting newsy stuff to you—either through audio or quick newsletters. I truly appreciate your support.

In this episode of the James Exchange, I had a conversation with Lincoln Lewis. Lincoln grew up in Larned, Kansas which has a population of about 3000. He considered this a small town until he made his way to Scottsville with a population of about 550.

His work in our town started as a team project. He worked with the Planning Commission to develop a community engagement process to be utilized in the Comprehensive Plan which is due now to be revised. The project’s team was awarded a state-wide award from the Virginia Chapter of the American Planning Association.

While his members of the team moved on, Lincoln was so intrigued with Scottsville, he stayed to assist with the work on the Comprehensive Plan. For background, this plan is mandated to be updated by localities every five years with a twenty year concept.

Additionally, the Town received a quote from a firm to the tune of $65,641.90. The work would have included many of the meetings and studies that Lincoln performed for about $6500 which was paid over two fiscal years.

Meet Lincoln:

As a side note, yesterday, December 21, Councilor Dan Gritsko led a group of students from the James River Boys and Girls Club on a tour of Scottsville. At the end, Lincoln was slated to ask them how they see the future of Scottsville. This conversation is for another time!

After listening, please weigh in:

Enjoy meeting Lincoln.

As always, if you have a song, a story, an event, or an issue you would like to discuss, perhaps it is time for a conversation!

Have a terrific Friday!

Nancy
